Live Music SF Bay Area
Led Zeppelin, Bach or Bob Marley? Rock Lobster or Rock of Ages? Jump start the energy of your crowd with the 6 piece band called Jump Start. We will rock you and make it YOUR party, however YOU want it!

Sarah and Heather know how to energize and the band’s energy couldn’t be brighter. This is your party and the band will cater to your needs and your wants. Sarah and Heather push the boys into a musical drag race–-scratch that-–musical bumper cars (!?)--maybe just a good party band. Your guests will love keeping up.

You’ll know you made the right choice at your party when the beat has taken over and the crowd looks like old time preachers overcome with the spirit! Your friends will thank you. Whether it’s margaritas, champagne or fruit juice, feel confident and boldly live your party without worries because--we got this.

It’s hard to find entertainers whose artistic sizzle matches their professional discipline. Your party needs to be a hit and you don’t want to have to focus your energy on every detail. Your event will rock with a confident band on stage and in charge.

We lower our feather caps to say:
Jump Start at your service.

Please read our Party Band reviews and take a look at our show footage.
  1. Does your event involve costumes? We will come dressed up to match!
  2. Do you have a special song for the bride/groom, father/daughter or mother/son dance? Or maybe a favorite song for the employee of the month? We'll learn up to three songs for your event!
  3. Do you have someone who likes to be the center of attention? We will allow key participants to sing a song with us!
  4. Want to get some ideas? Review our songlist to customize your event!

JumpStart takes audience participation to a new level by welcoming audience members to join the band on stage to help us with the background vocals, dance, play tambourines, or even play one of our mock guitars for all those “Guitar Heroes” in the crowd!

Choose A Live Band If…

You Have A Sizable Budget
If you’re on a tight budget, a wedding band definitely won’t be the most cost-effective option. With all of the equipment, time, effort, and talent that goes into a wedding band production, it’s little wonder that live bands cost significantly more than a DJ.

Your Guests Aren’t Dancers
If a lot of your guests don’t like to hit the dance floor, then a DJ might just bore them to tears. Live bands offer the best of both worlds, allowing your dance-adverse guests to enjoy an incredible show while still keeping dance-loving guests movin’ and groovin’.
You Want to Get Emotional
Almost everyone agrees: There’s just something about live music that can transform an otherwise “okay” song into an incredible tear-jerker. If you’re hoping to see your closest friends and loved ones get a tad sentimental on the big day, then booking a band might be for you.
You Want to Impress
Live bands are an impressive sight with their costumes, instruments, and charismatic presence. Their sound quality is golden as well. After all, what’s better than hearing music played right next to you? Overall, if you’re hoping to host an impressive occasion, a live band is a great way to top off an elegant evening.

Choose A DJ If…

You Want Non-Stop Music
While bands will need to stop for breaks, a good DJ will transition from song to song all night long without any lulls. If you have a high-energy group who loves to keep it moving on the dance floor, then a DJ might be the best option for you.

You Have Limited Space
Live bands often take up a great deal of room and aren’t ideal for smaller venues. Even the most elaborate DJ setup takes up very little space compared to a band. If you don’t have a lot of room to go around, opting for a DJ may be the less claustrophobic option.

You’re Looking for Variety
Even the most skilled band will have a limited repertoire of songs they can play. If you want to play songs from a wide variety of genres and eras, then a DJ might be best for providing the versatility that you crave.
You Need an Emcee
A good wedding DJ will know how to take music requests, craft spectacular playlists, and emcee your reception like a champ. Bands are known for playing amazing music, but usually aren’t as skilled in making announcements and keeping the event “flowing” properly.
